Z is for Zoo!
Yes, when you are 63, you can go to the zoo! During spring break, our son was lining up care for our granddaughter because they were only able to be off part of the week. Pops was assigned one day and he told me they planned to go to the zoo! The zoo just happens to be near my office so . . .most everyone was out that week (all the folks with school age kids). I told Mark to swing by the church and pick me up and they could drop me off afterwards. I ran away for a couple of hours and it was PERFECT.
We saw the flamingos -- our sweet girl called them "friendengos" rather than flamingos when she was little. I still love that!
We rode the train!
Yay! I completed the month of April A to Z blogging everyday except Sundays! I was able to work in a couple of Sunday Stealing posts and a couple of Wednesday Hodgepodge posts.
The A to Z's of being 63 are pretty similar to the A to Z's of any age - we have a little more freedom, we have a little extra spending money, we have a little more time (technically). Being 63 is pretty good!
Such beautiful photos...when our son was little we use to go to the Birmingham Zoo and sit for seemed like hours to watch the monkeys. smiles--have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI had not been in many years and it was quite lovely!
DeleteFriendengos ... I love that! Congratulations on completing the A to Z, plus a few more. I've enjoyed getting to know you better!
ReplyDeleteI may always call them Friendengos!
DeleteGreat photos full of fun! Perfect last letter of this year's A-Z!!
ReplyDeletethank you so much!!
DeleteAww, I love a day at the zoo, thank you for letting me be part of your adventures. I was lucky enough to encounter the African beauties on a Kruger safari a couple of years ago. "Friendengos" is perfect!
ReplyDeleteWatch out for my A-Z Reflection post tomorrow, you'll be featured :-)
I would love to go on a safari some day! I look forward to your post tomorrow!
DeleteZoos are a great adventure for kids….so much to see. A great way for you to play hooky for a while. We were told at one in Australia that they deliberately do tricky feeding things with the big cats to keep their senses active and their brains occupied.
ReplyDeleteYes, the person standing next to us when we were waiting on the zookeeper to feed the cats said that our zoo does that, too. It makes sense that you would want to keep them active and occupied.
DeleteForgot to congratulate you on completing the challenge…you’ve had witch interesting posts.
ReplyDeletethank you!
DeleteLooks like a fund day! Congrats on completing the A to Z Challenge!
