Sunday Stealing

Here we are on Sunday . . .and thanks to Bev for searching the internet for our questions each week. Feel free to answer in the comments or you can copy the questions and answer on your own blog and link up here.

The questions today are stolen from . . . Stephen Colbert and these are the 15 questions he asks his guests.

 1. The Best sandwich – wow. . .right out of the gate with a tough question. How about a fried shrimp po’ boy with fresh Gulf of Mexico shrimp? Or a BALT (bacon, avocado, lettuce, and tomato)? Sometimes the best sandwich is crunchy peanut butter with grape jelly. I talked about these sandwiches a couple of weeks ago – Ousler’s chicken salad sandwiches. They are white bread and the chicken salad is thinly spread. We serve them for parties and they are yummy BUT you could eat a million of them. They are sort of like popcorn. They are cut into ¼’s and it is easy to keep popping them into your mouth. Does a hamburger count as a sandwich? I love a good cheeseburger. There is a little drive through coffee shop here in town. They also serve three sandwich boxes - chicken salad (they are good), Hawaiian rolls with ham and cheese, and pimento cheese. A good pimento cheese sandwich is tasty. Oh - I just remembered my favorite. There used to be a restaurant within walking distance of my house and they served a fried green tomato and pimento cheese sandwich. It was so good!!

2.  Something you own that you really should throw out. I have a couple of sleep shirts that have seen better days. I'm sure there are some things in our attic that we should throw out.

3.  The scariest animal – I love watching ALL of the big cats but I think I would be really scared if I encountered one. On some television show, I saw the damage that a bear did to a person . . .I can’t decide if a bear or a big cat would be the scariest. Maybe I should say that human kind is the scariest animal of all.

4.  Apples or oranges – I love both! We eat a lot of fresh fruit and at this time of the year, I usually have bananas, oranges, halos, and a couple of varieties of apples available for snacking. I did eat one of the best oranges ever when we were in Israel the last time. I felt like I was eating sweet sunshine.

5.  Have you ever tried to get an autograph from someone? I’ve only tried once and I did get it. There was a comedian that my father-in-law really enjoyed. We were on a flight back from Hawaii in 1987 and he was in first class . . .right in front of me. I did ask him and he gave me an autograph. My father-in-law was dying of cancer and I actually told the guy that. I cannot think of that guy's name!!

6.  What happens when you die? I’m a Christian so I believe that I’ll be with Jesus as soon as my eyes close for the last time on the earth.

7.  Favorite Action movie – We aren’t big movie watchers. I’ve always loved James Bond movies and I like Indiana Jones.

8.  Window or Aisle? Aisle, please.

9.  Favorite smell – Old books in a library would be my favorite smell but popcorn popping is maybe my next favorite smell.

10.  Your most popular app on your phone. Facebook or Instagram

11.  Least favorite smell. Perfume and cologne – ANY kind. Scents send me over the edge with my allergies. I use unscented everything.

12.  Cats or dogs? I like them both but we have a 12 ½ pound cat. He weighed himself this week – seriously. He walked into the closet and stood on the scales long enough for my husband to see his weight!

13.  If you can only listen to one song over and over for the rest of your life, what would it be? I want it to be Overcomer by Mandisa but that wouldn’t work if I needed a quieter song. I like Lauren Daigle, too. I don’t think I would want to listen to one song over and over for the rest of my life.

14.  What number am I thinking of? (I will answer honestly) – 12 is what popped into my head hahaha!

15.  The rest of your life in 5 words.

Look

for

JOY

everyday.

I’m sure some of you will have really profound things to say but that is all I’ve got today 😊

  1. What do you mean, not profound? Yours are great responses, Lisa! I agree, mankind is probably the scariest. Now I'm wanting one of those fried green tomato and pimento sandwiches!
    Have yourselves a blessed day!

    1. I don't want that answer to be the right one but sometimes it definitely is.

  5. I never heard of BALT before. All the sandwiches sound good to me. I love Mandisa and heard her when she was on tour with American Idol. I love her song called What if it is God Speaking. I am like you, I can't handle any fragrances because of my allergies. I can use essential oils. Have a great week Lisa!

    1. I can handle peppermint essential oil and lemon essential oil but the others affect me just like perfumes and colognes. The avocado on the BLT adds a great creaminess!!

    I'm an aisle girl, too.

  7. Thanks for cheering for me on my blog! I loved your sandwich answers. I almost put shrimp po'boy too, lol. We have a lady here who has a great little southern soul food restaurant who makes delish ones. We can't get fried green tomatoes, and that sandwich sounds devine. I may have to grow some this year...

    1. There are several restaurants - even some of our top restaurants - that serve fried green tomatoes. One time I ordered an appetizer that was fried green tomatoes with pork belly and something else - oh my goodness - swoon!
