N is indeed for the Nile River.
Since I grew up going to church, I've always had a scene like the one below in my head. Of course, I knew that the Nile wouldn't be like that now, but . . .this is what was in my head.

We were all hot! hot! hot! when we board our fallucca for a ride on the Nile. There were enough of us in our group, that we filled two boats.
Here we are - right side of the boat.
Left side of the boat. I know those sides of the boat have official names.
It felt good to sit down and have a cold beverage.
No bullrushes here - this is what the Nile looks like now. It doesn't even look like it looked in the Agatha Christie movie, Death on the Nile. Just FYI - I loved that movie!
It was a gorgeous day!
Big city buildings and hotels were all around the shores.
We had a retired music teacher on our boat and she led us in singing several Egyptian songs.
You can tell how hot I was - my hair is plastered to my head and pulled back in a ponytail.
It was a lovely day for a sail!
Have you ever seen the Nile? Have you ever been on a sailboat?
I’ve been on a sailing boat but never been to the Nile. It doesn’t look like those images from bible stories does it?
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great adventure. I'm not likely to go anywhere overseas in my future, but I watch a lot of travel and history documentaries that often take me to these areas.
