1. What was the last thing you celebrated? We celebrated our middle granddaughter's 7th birthday!
2 July 29th is International Day of the Tiger. Besides the
wild animal itself, when you hear the word tiger what's the first
person-place-thing-whatever that comes to mind? War Eagle! Auburn Tigers!! Mark, his twin brother, our sister- in- law, both of our kids, and our daughter-in-law are all Auburn graduates.

| Aubie is my favorite tiger (though I think real tigers are very cool)! Somewhere I have a photo of Aubie and me . . .I actually have an aubie crush |
3. The expression 'eye of the tiger' describes someone with
intense focus, determination, and the drive to succeed. What area of your life
are you currently bringing that kind of energy to? My eye is on the goal of graduating from Samford University with my BA in Human Development and Family Science in May of 2027 . . .one month before my 69 birthday!
4. What was the last meal you cooked? I cooked for our supper club on Sunday night. We were in charge of the main course and we had Hot Chicken Salad (chicken casserole) and I made two loaves of yummy bread and Mark made a pitcher of Old Fashioneds (or is it Old Fashions? - I googled and I'm still not totally sure!). The other three couples brought the remainder of the meal.
5. Describe your July using exactly five
words.
Busy – with lots of things!
Blessed – celebrated a birthday and two new kittens (one at our daughter's house and one at our son's house)
Bruised – our granddaughter and the crazy shower incident
Hot – as hell - seriously - July in Alabama
Soaked – we have had so much rain
6. Insert your own random thought here.
It should be
Surviving an
Alabama July
Central Air Conditioning and Cold Diet Pepsi
The neighborhood pool at 9:00 a.m.
Yes! An ice cold watermelon
Wait on the 2:00 p.m. afternoon storm!

Our feels like temp is currently 114 but I just...don't feel that hot. I even ran today. Granted, that was at about 7:30. I don't know why I am just not bothered by the heat this year.
ReplyDeleteI was in my car earlier and turned off the engine. I was looking up some directions/mileage which took 4 or 5 minutes - I felt like I was going to die from heat stroke haha! That is so awesome that it isn't bothering you this year!
DeleteYour Alabama July is very much like my Florida July!! You are always busy and always cooking! Fun answers. xo
ReplyDeleteI imagine the weather is similar!
DeleteWe both spotlighted our team mascot, the Tiger. Auburn and LSU Tigers! Here is North Central Texas, the temperature hasn't been below 102 during the day in several weeks. It is seriously like stepping into an oven. I am not a summer gal - give me rain, snow and ice!
ReplyDeleteI like the sound of your Sunday meal with friends. You are a Tiger when it comes to getting that degree! Well done. Before you know it you'll be wondering what to do with all your extra time. :) Happy Hodgepodge!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a wonderful celebration for your middle granddaughter's birthday!
ReplyDeleteOh wow! That is amazing, good luck with graduating!
I hope your granddaughter is doing OK now after the shower incident.
You are definitely well on your way to graduating. Keep up the good work. Send some of your rain this way please lol.
ReplyDeleteI just checked back on your post about the shower incident. That sounds awful and I definitely wouldn't expect a shower door to shatter like that. Hope your granddaughter is recovering well.
