Three! Three! Three! Sunday Stealing

Welcome to Sunday Stealing link up. Bev steals all types of questions from every corner of the blogosphere. She shares the questions and we copy, paste, answer, and link up here. Cheers to all of us thieves!

Stolen from Moody Blue

Three names you go by, other than your given name: My kids call me mom, mother, and sometimes even mommy. Our granddaughters call me Gran. I have “titles” and “jobs” but I don’t think I have any other names. If my daddy were still alive, he would call me “hoss” when I was a little girl.

Three things you like about yourself: I like my smile. I like my laugh. I like my work ethic.

Three things you don't like about yourself: I don’t like that I’m slow to trust (though that might be good). I don’t like my critical spirit (I’m a one on the enneagram). I don’t like the fact that I can be quite selfish.

Three parts of your heritage: Until a few years ago (pre-DNA) I would have told you that I had a large portion of Native American – Cherokee to be exact. I know that isn’t true now which is still so weird to me. I have a lot of Irish, Scottish, and German.

Three things you are wearing right now: I’m wearing a night shirt. I decided to do this right before going to sleep on Saturday night. I’m wearing flips flops and underwear (TMI). That makes 3 things – 4 if you count each flip flop!

Three favorite bands/musical artists: Right now, I have the soundtrack from Hamilton on repeat. I also like Maroon Five. I actually like Beyonce and Pink, too. Eclectic, right?

Three favorite songs: I love Defying Gravity from Wicked. I love Overcomer by Mandisa. As I said earlier, right now I’m on a Hamilton kick so I could pick several from that soundtrack!

Three things you want in a relationship: I want love, respect, and trust.

Three of your favorite hobbies: I enjoy hanging out with family and friends. I enjoy crafty things. I love to read.

Three things that scare you: There are some things that scare me that I don’t even want to say out loud. I try to trust in God’s care. I don’t particularly like snakes or spiders or most bugs.

Three of your everyday essentials: I start my day with Diet Pepsi. That sounds really sad that I consider it an essential but . . .oh well! I also need to know that I’m loved every day. I don’t have to hear the words – actions will do and I need to show love to someone else every day. I think love is pretty essential. If you want to get down to the real basics . . .air/oxygen is pretty essential!

Three places you want to go on vacation: Iceland, Greece, Alaska are all on my list along with a lot of other spots! Even a week at the beach (our state has a coast on the Gulf of Mexico) would be nice.

Three careers you have considered/are considering: I started out working for South Central Bell/American Bell/AT&T and then I became a mother and stayed home. I worked two part-time jobs while our kids were little – Tambrands (the brand for Tampax . . .and I got free products). I also worked for Birmingham Crain and Host. Now I work on a church staff and have been doing that for almost 20 years. If I could consider a new career at 64, I would finish my undergrad (which I’m working on) and go to seminary and become a preacher.

Three things you want to do before you die: I want to travel more. I want to love more. I want to spend more time with the ones I love.

Three things you want to do really badly right now: I need sleep. I’m on some medicine that is making me unable to sleep and I NEED some sleep. I WANT to get to my goal weight. It has been an elusive goal for years. After our upcoming trip, I plan to buckle down and see what I can do. I am not going deep with this question so forgive me . . .I think I want to add a dry bar to our re-construction plans. We are making some other changes and updates and I think I need to write up a change order and send it in. Guess what? THEY STARTED THE RECONSTRUCTION OF OUR HOUSE THIS WEEK – HALLELUJAH!! Hopefully we will be back in our home before the one year mark on July 9.

  1. We saw a touring company of Hamilton in chenectady about 4 years ago. I love the first song, possibly, along with Tradition from Fiddler on the Roof, the best first song in a Broadway show. I'm 1/4 Irish!

  3. That is wonderful news about your house!! I enjoyed reading your three answers to each question. It seemed a bit too much last night when I did my blessing post instead. Have a good week ahead!

  4. Yay on the construction start! Unlike in my youth, I'm also slow to trust. (Gonna count that one in the 'good' column, lol)
Being an only child -- spoiled and never having to share -- becoming a college co-ed and then a step-mom? ... Let's just say I had a rude awakening.

  5. Good news on your house! I know that has been a real trial for you. I am so impressed you're back in college.

  6. So happy for you that the reconstruction starts. It's better to be right in the middle than waiting for it.

About trust: I'm working on being slower. I trust people right from the first contact and that has resulted in pure disappointment several times. Even though I think people should earn trust I give it away for free.

You are the third I'm readinng who wants to go to Alaska. We'd better go all at the same time and meet there. LOL!

    Enjoy your week!

    1. Thank you so much! I have been known to participate in a meme after the due date . . . and just not link up. They were good questions and would make good writing prompts for another day.
