I'm joining up with the Sunday Stealing thieves. They can't remember where they stole the questions.
Time Travel
What were you doing ...
1. Twenty years ago? May 2005 - Our twins were getting ready to graduate from high school - we were doing all of the "lasts." They were getting ready to go to college.
2. Ten years ago? This is from my blog from ten years ago: Mark is going to the farm tonight (Wednesday) to get his present. I am a lousy present buyer for him. It is just so very hard to buy gifts for him. I asked Glenn to help me to think of some ideas (Anniversary, Father’s day and birthday). I was thinking of a green egg but he has a really nice grill. Glenn mentioned that Mark had been talking about wanting crawfish in the farm lake. I googled Southeastern Pond Management and emailed them to find out if this is something I could do, etc. They are delivering 500 pounds of crawfish to the farm lake tomorrow (Thursday). Mark is actually thrilled! (do guys get thrilled? Don’t answer that. Whatever word would work for men – he likes the idea that we are getting crawfish.) I hope he remembers to take some photos - it is so cool - they drive a big truck up and connect a hose (like a firehose but fatter) and shoot the fish from the tanker truck into the lake!! I guess we could eat these but I believe they are actually food for the bass.
3. Five years ago? We were only a few months into the pandemic. I actually have a lapse in writing for the first months. I didn't write in my blog until August of that year. I actually only wrote one post in 2019. Looking back, I'm not sure why I took so much time away from the blog.
4. One year ago? Last May we had a photographer and writer come to our house. They documented the story of the fire and our rebuild. It was a pretty cool experience.
5. Yesterday? We went to a "memorial picnic" for our oldest sister who died in November. It was a rainy and windy day. We were under a covered pavilion but it was still wet and chilly. I did enjoy talking to some of our great nieces and our first cousin.
Bonus! What will you do tomorrow? On Monday, I'll head back to work!
Thank you for playing! Please come back next week.
stealing from your blog to answer the quiz: I APPROVE! Writing during COVID was necessary for me bc I felt so isolated. Also, I watched a lot of movies online and wrote about them.
ReplyDeleteIt is sort of "funny" . . .because I have to think hard to remember things we did during covid. I cooked a lot and we exercised a LOT! It was a strange time.
DeleteThe early months of the pandemic definitely threw a curveball at everyone's routines, including blogging.
ReplyDeletePradeep / Time and Tide
Yes, those months were strange!!
DeletePremise of this post or series is fun. I would like to look back and see what we were doing 5 years ago, 10 and 20 years ago. The pandemic was such a difficult time. I really don't like to think about it much because that was so hard on my mom.
ReplyDeleteHope your husband is genuinely thrilled with the crawfish. I'm surprised they don't have to do something to help them adapt to the lake water. But maybe that's just an aquariums with aquarium fish.
They deliver the fish for the lake in the same manner!! I forgot to ask him if the crawfish are all gone now. He fishes down there at least one or two days a week since he has retired.
DeleteReading your answer to the third question made me feel so much better about blogging break. Happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteThe pandemic was hard on everyone, I think.
ReplyDeleteYes, it was!!
DeleteThat was such a fun read. The crawfish gift must have been hard to beat. COVID was such a strange time in everyone lives. Sorry to hear about your daughters passing.. a memorial picnic sounds lovely.. even if the weather did not cooperate.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for commenting. It was our sister who died, not my daughter. My sister had been in poor health for many years. She is missed.
