FUTURE - FIVE MINUTE FRIDAY

Linking up today with Five Minute Friday - setting my stopwatch (on my phone, of course) for five minutes and then typing away about . . . .

FUTURE

Just this morning, I was thinking about living on a fixed income . . .I'm only 58 but my husband is five years older and is looking ahead to his retirement.  I DO NOT DO WELL on a budget.  He sent me an email with his proposed budget for retirement and I said, "where are my hair salon appointments?  how about the housekeeper?  what about pedicures?"  Let me tell you . . .I may have to work until I'm 80 because I don't want to give up the luxuries that I feel like I've waited on my entire life.  That is crazy - I can't believe I just typed all that but I think it is true.

Instead, I should be thinking about what I want to accomplish with God's help in the future and I was thinking about luxuries - silly me!  I hope to be able to serve God all the way until my last breath. Laura (daughter) told me last night that it is a good thing that I work in a church because I can work up until the day I die . . .and walk down the hall to my own funeral . . .and be done with it!  hahaha! To be honest, that is the way I want to live my future.  I want to be healthy (swim in the dead sea and climb a million steps in Israel in January).  I want to live long and play with grandchildren.  I want to be riding on top of a double decker bus in New York City when I'm in my 90's . . .when I'm older (in the future).

my sweet mother-in-love and sister-in-love in New York City last week
I want to enjoy life and live and laugh and love in the future.  I want to travel and see things I've never seen (Northern Lights!!).  I want to hike to the falls in the Preserve which is right across the street from our house.  I want to LIVE!  I want to LOVE.  I want to SERVE GOD.  What do you want to do with your future?
P.S.  I would love to keep my hair salon appointments, cleaning lady and still get pedicures, too . . .in the future, you know?  (five minutes flew by!!)
