T is for Tut - King Tut Plus the Hodgepodge

#AtoZChallenge 2025 letter T

To keep my sanity, I'm combining my T is for Tut - King Tut, that is . . .plus this week's hodgepodge. I'll try to keep both of the posts to a minimum so you won't be bored or so I won't bore myself :-)

Sometimes I quote information from other sites when writing my posts. I feel really weird straight up quoting from The Smithsonian Magazine, but if you have time . . .check out this article.

The sad thing is that you cannot take pictures of the King Tutankhamun exhibit. Photos were prohibited. I think it would have been amazing to have been Howard Carter back in 1922 when he found the tomb. As I was looking for photos, I went down the rabbit hole of research.

If you are ever in Egypt, go see King Tut and . . .

use your imagination to pretend you were there on the day the tomb was discovered and you were one of the first ones to see this:

On to the hodgepodge

1. The Hodgepodge lands on National Picnic Day...will you celebrate? Do you enjoy picnics? Dining out of doors picnic or otherwise? What are three or four things I'd find in your picnic basket? I will not be participating in a picnic on National Picnic Day. Sometimes a picnic can be fun but sometimes the flies and other bugs or the heat make a picnic not so fun. If I did go on a picnic, I would have watermelon, cheese cubes, crackers, and turkey roll ups in my basket. I'm literally making this up as I type!!

2.  A time recently where you felt 'antsy'? I'm a little antsy that I haven't found the correct clothes for this wedding we will be attending in May.

3. As the saying goes...'when life gives you lemons, make lemonade.'  Do you like lemonade? When did you recently need to make lemonade out of lemons, figuratively speaking? Sometimes I like an ice cold glass of lemonade. If I'm in Auburn, I definitely want some lemonade from Toomer's Drugstore! Over the last year, we've made a lot of "lemonade" out of lemons.

4. Recently five 'celebrities' made a brief (ll minute) foray into space aboard Jeff Bezos Blue Origin rocket. Did you hear about this? Your thoughts? If money were no object is this something you'd like to do someday? I had not heard about this voyage so, of course, I had to google it. It does sound a tad extravagant, but I guess money is not object to the passengers on that voyage. I don't know if I would be interested or not. I would have to think about it.

5. Favorite thing about the 'space' you're sitting in right now? I love our home. I'm sitting at the island in our kitchen. Since the fire and re-build, I try not to take our home for granted. Our kitchen is literally in the middle of the house and I like to think of it as the heart of our home.

6. Insert your own random thought here. We are nearing the end of the A to Z challenge - U, V, W, X, Y, and Z are the only letters I still have to write! Also, I was able to have lunch with our oldest granddaughter on Tuesday. I'm still smiling!
