I'm joining up with the Sunday Stealing thieves!
Hobbies I've learned from a friend -- I don't think I've learned any hobbies from my friends. When I was a teenager, someone taught me to crochet . . .but for the life of me, I can't remember who taught me. When our kids were babies, I took smocking lessons and sewing lessons. Back when I used to scrapbook, my daughter helped me get started on that.
My physical activity preferences -- I ride the stationary recumbent bike almost every day.
Music I think is essential for everyone to hear -- I have no answer for this prompt. Actually, as I was setting up the publish time for Sunday, I did think of something. On Christmas Eve, we have a man who sings O Holy Night at every service. His voice is so incredibly beautiful and I love sitting in the sanctuary surrounded by LOTS of people while I listen. I wish everyone could hear that! I don't think it is essential, but it is good!
Something I have to relearn every time I do it -- there are a couple of things with our database at work that I do so rarely, I sort of have to relearn each time.
When I start thinking about holiday season planning -- I have mixed emotions. It is weird being by ourselves on Christmas morning. It also makes me a little sad. Mark's mom won't be with us this year - it will be our first Thanksgiving and Christmas without her. Our daughter and her family won't be with us at Thanksgiving. Yet, I still love Thanksgivivng.
Quirks & preferences I have about writing letters -- I love receiving snail mail - especially hand-written cards or notes! I still try to write thank you notes to people. I actually received a thank you note today and it made my day!
If I had to limit my reading to only 3 genres, I’d pick...mystery, thriller, and more mystery!
When joining teams, would I rather lead or follow -- I would prefer to follow, but sometimes I have to insert my opinion :-). Maybe I should say I prefer to follow unless I feel I'm the expert in whatever we are doing -- like cooking with my hubby!!
What’s my dream concert, and who would be performing -- I have been to very few concerts in my lifetime so I don't know who I would pick.
The funniest, weirdest, silliest, animal/pet I’ve ever met -- our son's German Short Haired Pointer and her friends -- they are the funniest dogs. They are big and they want to sit in your lap like a little dog. They also have some funny quirks!
How has love changed for me over the years -- I guess I love deeper because I've seen how short life can be. No one knows whether they will wake up tomorrow or not, so we better love while we can.
A book, movie, or song that brings me a sense of peace -- reading the Bible brings me a sense of peace, as does singing/listening to old hymns and some contemporary Christian music.
Names I like but wouldn’t suit me -- these questions are so weird! My first and middle birth names are Lisa Kay . . .I often wished for a longer name. My mother's name was Mae Elizabeth and then my oldest sister had Elizabeth as part of her name and my other sister's name is Rebecca (we call her Becky) and I always wanted more letters in my name haha!
What’s a part of myself I’m still working to understand -- my emotions/feelings!! I thought that by the time I was 66 years old, I wouldn't worry what people think of me or I wouldn't get my feelings hurt.
Something I love about myself today -- I am alive and I don't have any serious health concerns!
I think you can have your feelings hurt at any age. I suppose you could have been Lisa Katherine - that would have been longer.
ReplyDeleteI like that!
DeleteI haven't had my feelings hurt since last week. If you would like, I'll send you a snail mail. Email me it's on my blog.
ReplyDeleteLove it!!
DeleteI prefer to type letters because I have simply lost the habit of writing and, spending 40 years at keyboard have made me more used to that. Also I can correct mistakes typing.
ReplyDelete:o)
