1. May 20th is World Bee Day...what's something that's kept you 'busy as a bee' lately? Let's see . . .my job keeps me busy. I'm in between semesters, but this summer my class load is going to keep me busy as several bees. Life always keeps me busy as a bee!
2. Do you like honey? What's something you make or enjoy that calls for honey? We do like honey and one of my co-workers has bees that make delicious honey. I like to take a low carb tortilla and put a small smear of peanut butter on it . . .and a tiny drizzle of honey. Yum.
3. "Gracious words are like a honeycomb,
sweetness to the soul and health to the body." Proverbs 16:24
What's a proverb you love, or one that speaks to you or has helped you in some way? I love Proverbs 17:17 - "A friends loves at all times"! There are so many good Proverbs -- 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." 17:22 "A cheerful heart is good medicine . . ."
The Bible is full of Proverbs, a whole book in fact, if that
helps with your answer. The word proverb is defined as 'a short pithy saying
in general use, stating a general truth or piece of advice'.
4. Tell us about a 'sweet' moment in your life recently that filled you with joy, gratitude, or peace. I will write some separate posts about this past weekend. We have had so much sadness in our family over the last three years. This past weekend was good time spent together.
5. When you were a child, what did you want to 'be' when you grew up? How close did you come to that? I wanted to be an Archeologist. I am the Executive Assistant to the Senior Pastor so I don't think I'm even in the ballpark BUT I love when we travel and get to see the ancient ruins.
6. Insert your own random thought here. When Mark was a young adult, he and his daddy had some bee hives. Actually, they still had the hives when we were first dating and in our early years of marriage. They had a smoker with bellows - the smoke would calm down the bees (I think) when they were robbing the hives. The funny story is that Mark's dad bought a new bee suit with no holes . . .and gave the old suit with holes to Mark! Another interesting thing is that Mark is an identical twin and Mark is not allergic to bees . . .but his twin brother is!!
I forgot that I once aspired to be an archaeologist. I love history, and being a part of ancient discoveries would be incredibly fulfilling.
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine yourself holding one of those little brushes . . .and brushing away the dirt to uncover something amazing.
DeleteOne of my grandsons says he wants to be an archaeologist. We'll see if that dream stays with him. My younger daughter's in-laws have bees so they keep us in honey which is so good. I'm so glad you've had some good family time after a year of hard losses. Enjoy the long weekend!
ReplyDeleteLocal honey is always so good!! I hope y'all have a great weekend, too
DeleteWell an archeologist at heart would really love the places you've been recently! That is so interesting that one twin is allergic and another isn't! Hope you have a meaningful Memorial Day Long weekend.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I'm a sponge when we are on the trips - soaking it all in!!
DeleteYour life does sound busy. I hope you get some down time among it all.
ReplyDeleteYum! Tortilla, peanut butter and honey sounds delicious!
That is a great proverb!
I like the verses you chose. I think I wanted to be an archeologist too when I was in grade school and learning about dinosaurs and rocks. That is interesting how one twin is allergic, and the other is not.
ReplyDeleteI love archeology and especially when it proves the Bible is true. Busy is your middle name, I think!! LOL It's a good busy, though! Your faith shines through the hard times you have endured over the last year or so. Have a blessed weekend and week ahead! xo
