1. What's one thing you want to get done before the calendar
flips to a new year? I pulled my back “out of whack” about ten days ago and I’ve
started PT. I would love to get my back in working order. It is slowing me
down!! I know that is a weird answer . . .
2. What's something that brought a smile to your face this year? Our granddaughters!!
3. What do you like on a cracker? Do you have a favorite
cracker variety? I love crackers. I really enjoy cheese and crackers. Mark
and I both love Cheez its. I also love mini saltines. I really love the Fig
& Black Sesame Artisanal Crisps from Aldi. They may be my all-time
favorite. I love to put them on a charcuterie board, but I don’t actually put
cheese ON those crackers. They are good all by themselves!!
4. Do you have plans for ringing in the new year in a fun or
special way? Are you typically awake at midnight on the last day of the
year? At this point, we do not have any plans. I guess we should be
thinking about it!! We rarely make it until midnight.
5. What are three words that describe your 2024? Joy,
grief, and hard . . .even when life is hard and we are grieving, there is still
joy.
6. Insert your own random thought here. Here is our Christmas
card – Merry Christmas from our home to yours!!
I think most years we feel a wide range and mix of emotions. Some years are particularly hard and I know the losses you've had this year have been difficult. I hope you enjoy time with family this Christmas and definitely find relief for your back. That's so miserable. Your card is pretty! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThe holidays this year are definitely full of mixed emotions. I'm tired of back pain so I'm ready for it to be "well"!! Merry Christmas!
DeleteI hope that PT helps your back. Back pain is the worst! I don't think I have ever seen that variety of cracker at the Aldi closest to me but I will look for it. It looks like something I would like. Your card looks great! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI love those crackers (crisps). Everyone who has tried them (on our charcuterie boards) has loved them.
DeleteI hope your back will be feeling good by the time the calendar flips!
ReplyDeleteI have never tried the Fig & Black Sesame Artisanal Crisps. I'll have to see if I can find some next time I go on my weekly Aldi trip.
Blessings~
I hope so, too. It was better today after PT yesterday . . .until I tried to dance like a much younger person at work today!
DeleteThose crackers from aldi's look like something i'd like! i don't shop there but maybe i'll take a trip to the next town north of me and go grab some!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your Xmas card and LOVE your answer to the three words for the year. I can SO relate.
Have a wonderful CHRISTmas.
I don't shop at Aldi often but when I do, I always look for those crackers. I hope y'all have a wonderful Christmas, too!
DeleteThat baby girl looks so happy ... and huggable! I'm going to look for those crackers next time we're in Prattville.
ReplyDeleteThere is also a cracker with rosemary in it and it is ok, but I love the fig and black sesame seed ones.
DeleteMy mom has scoliosis and she's been having back issues too; recently got an MRI and they basically said her lower discs are shot! I think she's starting PT soon as well. Hope it works for you!
ReplyDeleteYesterday really helped BUT today we filmed our staff Christmas video and I jumped and danced with folks MUCH younger . . .and I'm paying the price this afternoon. I'm sorry about your mom.
DeleteLove your Christmas card. So sorry about your back. Hope it calms down soon. My lower back is trying to go out on me. Grief and Joy always seem to go together. A very Merry Christmas to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteOne of our pastors always says something about grief is the price we pay for loving someone (I butchered that -- he says it much better!). I definitely thing grief/love/joy all go together.
DeleteI have been doing to physical therapy for my back too. I think it is helping. I will have to look for those crackers the next time I am at Aldi's!
ReplyDeleteI hope the PT helps your back. Mine was better until I did something else stupid yesterday. I go back to PT tomorrow.
DeleteMerry Christmas!!! I love your Christmas card. Thank you for sharing. Sending prayers for your back. I have been doing PT for me knee.
ReplyDeleteThank you!! All prayers appreciated. I hope your knee is better soon.
DeleteWhile we may believe we’ve lost all joy in grief, we really don’t. It’s always there, bringing us back. I hope 2025 will be a blessing to you and your loved ones.
