Of the cities listed how many have you seen in person? Of the cities listed which would you most like to visit this year? Any plans to do so? What's one place in America you think everyone should see? If you're not American what's one place in the US you'd like to see? I have been to Boston and Washington D.C. and Charleston so I've only been to three! I have flown through Philadephia's airport and New York's airport, but that doesn't count! I would love to go to New York City!! I would also enjoy visiting the "historic triangle." Philadephia might be fun. As of right now, I don't have plans to visit any of those cities. I think everyone in America should see the white sand beaches of Alabama or the Florida panhandle. The white sand against the blue-green water of the gulf of Mexico is breathtaking!
2. Three sounds you love to hear? Let's see . . .three sounds I love are a baby's belly laugh, a good soft rain on a tin roof, and the waves against those white sand beaches!!
3. Three sounds you hate to hear? I hate - totally detest - hearing someone throw up. I have always loved to hear thunder, but since our house was struck by lightning during a thunder storm . . .I'm not so fond of it anymore. I also hate to hear a smoke alarm - PTSD. We are studying the prophets during Lent and yesterday I compared the messages of the prophets to that smoke alarm on the night of the fire. The smoke alarm is not my enemy. The smoke alarm is mercy. The smoke alarm wants to keep me safe!! Of my list of three, hearing someone throw up remains my number one hated sound. I'm working on the thunder and the smoke alarm.
4. February 24th is/was National Tortilla Chip Day. Are you a fan? With salsa, guacamole, queso, or just plain please? Do you like nachos? With what on top? Is there anything (besides nachos) you make that calls for tortilla chips? I do love tortilla chips. To me, the measure of a good Mexican restaurant is the chips, salsa, and Margaritas. I love tortilla chips with salsa, with guacamole, with queso. I love nachos with meat and cheese and salsa and guac and sour cream and beans! I actually brought 6 tiny tostito rounds in my lunch today. Yesterday I put chicken breasts, 2 cans of corn, 2 cans of black beans, and salsa in my crockpot. I made nachos last night with 12 chips. I brought a cup of the chicken/corn/beans/salsa in my lunch today, along with 6 tostitos that I crumbled on top!
5. We March into March with next week's Hodgepodge...what's one thing on your March calendar that makes you smile? We will celebrate our oldest granddaughter's 10th birthday and our youngest granddaughter's 2nd birthday! We will also host supper club at our house. Yes, I know that I listed three things. This is my blog, right? hahaha!
6. Insert your own random thought here. We are having a cold snap. It was warm on Saturday and that cold wind blew all day yesterday and the high today was maybe 40 degrees. Brr! I've seen photos and videos of New York City. They are getting hammered by the blizzard of 2026, so I can't complain about a day or two of cold weather!

Those are such great things to look forward to in March! A smoke alarm or any alarm inside is not a favorite noise of mine too. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for visiting and commenting! I hope you have a great weekend!
DeleteI can understand why the thunderstorm and smoke alarms would be sounds you dislike. I have never been to the Alabama beaches, but maybe one day. I judge my Mexican restaurants by the same standards : ) Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI knew we could be good friends -- same criteria for judging Mexican restaurants :-)
DeleteThe white sand does sound amazing and laughter is the best sound. Thunder scares me and a smoke alarm too.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your Granddaughters!
Thanks so much!! Have a great weekend!
DeleteLighting hit our house too, in 2016! What a mess it was. I just like you use to like thunderstorms, but not so much anymore.
ReplyDeleteStay warm my southern friend.
Carla
We had a big thunderstorm last night and it is the first time I haven't freaked out! Maybe I'm making progress!!
DeleteI judge Mexican standards the same!! March seems like a fun month for you. have been to Alabama but never their beaches. I can understand why you don't like the sound of thunder.
ReplyDeleteYou, Joyce, and I use the same criteria for our Mexican restaurants. Too bad we don't all live close enough to each other to meet at a fun Mexican restaurant!
DeleteBeing a NYer believe it or not I'm not a fan of NYC. We all up here think they should be their own state. Boston is far superior :)
ReplyDeleteI've never had a desire to go to the deep south although I'd love to see Charleston and Savannah. I've been to Atlanta but only the airport on a layover before flying over to CA. We are definitely Northeasters.....
your meal sounds yummy and your March sounds full!!
Charleston and Savannah are both beautiful cities. The deep south is a good place :-). Did you get that huge snowstorm that came through there last week?
DeleteWe like a Mexican restaurant with good chips, salsa and Margaritas, too! Oh boy, I can understand why those sounds set you on edge! Our granddaughter turns 9 in March. Have a great end of February!
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to hear all about your trip!!
DeleteI enjoyed your answers.
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
DeleteBless your heart, you have good reason to cringe at the sounds that bother you. Hope your March birthday celebrations are wonderful opportunities to be with those you love most.
