K is for . . . .#AtoZChallenge2017

Blogging from A to Z in April!  Today is the letter "K" . . .I started my "K" list early this morning with:
1.  Kitchen - I LOVE my kitchen.  Our kitchen is a great place for family and friends to gather; it is a great place to cook; it is a great place to read my Bible; it is a great place for bourbon tasting!

we even have a space for Emma to eat!

Bible study overflow into kitchen

Friday night bourbon tasting

bourbon tasting two (Mark won!)

 2.  KitchenAid Mixer!  It is an important tool in my kitchen.  I want to say that I love it . . .but I say I LOVE way too many things!!

3.  How about this good southern word?  K is for kinfolk!!  For those of you who don't know . . .kinfolk means relatives!!  When "kinfolk" gather, there is often food!

4. K is for kerplunk.  Last night, our sweet grandbaby fell and hit her mouth/chin on the corner of a little wooden stool . . .while WE WERE WATCHING her!!  It was bad enough when my children got hurt but to see that sweet baby cry last night - ripped out our hearts.

By today, she was much better!

5. K is for Kleenex - we needed some last night when baby girl was crying!!

6.  K is for Kibbutz - last year, when we were in Israel, we were fascinated to learn the meaning of kibbutz.  From Wikipedia: A kibbutz is a collective community in Israel that was traditionally based on agriculture. The first kibbutz, established in 1909, was Degania. Today, farming has been partly supplanted by other economic branches, including industrial plants and high-tech enterprises. Kibbutzim began as utopian communities, a combination of socialism and Zionism.

7.  Last but not least -- K is for kneeling.  Today is Maundy Thursday . . .and tomorrow is Good Friday.  Tomorrow night at our service of darkness, our ministers will kneel around the cross as they pray . . .and many folks throughout the world will be kneeling as they worship.

Kitchen is my favorite place too. Just that the kitchen in my current place is small dark and dingy :-)
