Weekend in Review

Well . . .another weekend has come and gone - in a flash!! Mark was at the farm on Thursday night and our cleaning lady was finally able to come so after work . . . I headed to the nail salon for a pedicure. I took my textbook and read the entire time. I did homework after she left and then crashed . . .and slept like a baby - all night!

On Friday morning, I had an appointment with the dermatologist. He froze three places on my face. He said everything else looks good. He removed that cancer from my ear last year and he did such a great job that he had to look at my chart to see which ear!!

The HoneyBaked Ham store is about a block from the dermatologist and I had a pick up order so I swung by there and then hurried home to put it in the fridge . . .because I had lunch plans. Our monthly lunch bunch has not been monthly lately. Life has been crazy for all of us. We spent some time catching up, but I think we could have talked for hours.

I think I ran some other errands, but I can't remember! Mark got home from the farm and we watched another episode of Breaking Bad. It is almost over. We are always sad when we complete a series of shows.

Saturday morning, I went to WW - still losing so that is great news! Then we hopped in the car and headed to a town about 25 minutes away. Our oldest granddaughter has been cheering for the 4th grade tackle football team and their team made it to the final two. The championship game was Saturday at 11:00. Our son and daughter-in-law are in Mexico for a birthday get-away. Her grandmas and Mark and I were representing the family. Guess what? They won! It was an exciting game. It was hot and the cheerleaders and football players were all sweating!! Yes, it is November and by the time you are reading this, we will be in the middle of a cold spell . . .but not on Saturday. It was hot.

She was so hot!

Hornets won - 32-22

The awards ceremony - they called both
teams and cheerleaders by name - individually
to present awards

After the game, Mark and I took our granddaughter to lunch at Chick-Fil-A and then we took her back to her house and grandma. We brought a windmill necklace to her from Amsterdam and she liked it. She loves Highland cows and I had found two cute ones at Hobby Lobby and I had those for her, plus we gave her the floating candles we used for Halloween.

We came home and did stuff around the house. We ate a pimento cheese sandwich for dinner because I didn't want to mess up the kitchen. Anyone else ever feel that way?

We watched another episode of Breaking Bad. I think we have three left, but won't be able to watch TV again until either Monday night or Tuesday night.

I worked on Sunday morning and I got to go to worship. It was soooo good. Our pastors are doing a series on Jesus' table - and they are building three tables to auction off - the money will go to feed our hungry neighbors. This series is so good. Our youth choir sang Crowded Table by Highwomen. I love that song and have been playing it on repeat. After worship I taught our adult Sunday School class. I was talking about our table and our Tuesday night young adults and about Mark's momma's table and I couldn't look at my sweet husband . . .he had tears. I talked about how our table has chips and dings now, as a result of the 2022 house fire . . .and Mark said that we are scarred and our furniture is scarred.  Just typing those last two sentences makes my eyes tear up.

We ate a turkey roll-up on low carb tortillas when I got home from work and Mark blew off the front porch and I freshened up inside . . .because we hosted our neighborhood supper club at 6:30 on Sunday night. I bought a HoneyBaked Ham (remember on Friday?). I cooked bacon brown sugar green beans . . . and I cheated. I bought a large and a small casserole from Ashley Mac's restaurant when I was eating lunch there on Friday. I put them in my own casserole dish and followed their baking instructions. One couple brought an appetizer; another brought salad; another brought hash brown casserole; and the last couple brought dessert-apple pie bars with ice cream.

And poof - it is Monday morning again.
