I saw a quote recently about New Year's that I really liked from Neil Gaiman:

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.

Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're Doing Something.

So that's my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody's ever made before. Don't freeze, don't stop, don't worry that it isn't good enough, or it isn't perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.

Whatever it is you're scared of doing, Do it.

Make your mistakes, next year and forever.”

And I also stumbled across a great article about distractions and stillness which I thought about while reading this post, maybe you'll like it: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/01/opinion/sunday/the-joy-of-quiet.html?_r=1&pagewanted=all%3Fsrc%3Dtp&smid=fb-shareDavid Carmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11194006957917993065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8021560750371071992.post-55906690094033975262012-01-02T12:46:57.299-06:002012-01-02T12:46:57.299-06:00reading this made me think on my post last year ab...reading this made me think on my post last year about resolutions.

http://laurenrebeccaelliott.blogspot.com/2011/02/real-simple-right.html

i've been pondering this next year about what the Lord has in store and what that looks like on my end. i'm hoping soon to express all of this in a post so be on the lookout! it's crazy the year is over and it had indeed flown by!Lauren Elliotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15656369316839461456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8021560750371071992.post-74018718556896007502012-01-02T12:45:49.213-06:002012-01-02T12:45:49.213-06:00This comment has been removed by the author.Lauren Elliotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15656369316839461456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8021560750371071992.post-53228525057802620742012-01-02T11:06:44.612-06:002012-01-02T11:06:44.612-06:00Lisa - I love the idea of a theme word for the yea...Lisa - I love the idea of a theme word for the year. I've stopped making resolutions because I never keep them. Maybe a word would be more inspirational. Now, I just need to come up with a word! Serve, Do, Calm....

And, yes, the last part of the year does always fly by. It's (usually) a fun-filled time, though. I love to stay busy in December with all different types of Christmas activities.

Thanks for your inspirational post!
CassieCassiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11560349035082153035noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8021560750371071992.post-54092082770076120322012-01-02T08:10:38.429-06:002012-01-02T08:10:38.429-06:00I love your blog!
